Do you have a morning practice? Did you know most highly successful people have a morning practice including Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Mark Zuckerberg & Lady Gaga.
So why? For me it sets me up for the day, allows space for some grounding and for focus, it also creates the space for mindfulness – for health and wellbeing.
So I will share what I do. On waking I put my feet to the floor and just take a moment before leaping out of bed, I then go and make myself a freshly squeezed lemon juice. Fresh lemon juice is great for cleansing the palate but also for kick starting the metabolism, I also really like it! I then do a 15 minute meditation which i mix up, sometimes it’s guided, sometimes it’s just being present with my breath, or focusing on the chakra points or energy point in my body.
I then go for a 30 minute walk, i have lovely park just nearby which is perfect as its my 30 minute lap, I love it as I am seeing nature, feeling the weather for the day and just taking that time to get my body moving and be present into the day. The last leg of the walk I think of things to be grateful for, I practice gratitude.
All up it’s about 45 minutes each morning and it works for me.
The important thing is to find what works for you.
Don’t just do what you think you should do or what I do. Do what you enjoy and once you make the time and get in a routine. Before you know it you have set up your day and set your focus on what you want to create.
And it all flows from there…
